CD/DVD Data
Recovery
Due to having a reasonable capacity to store data as well as being highly portable CD/DVD backup is on the increase. While this form of media is more resistant to certain types of damage that may effect Hard Drives, CDs and DVD's can still require data recovery if they become damaged and unreadable.
We recover from all forms of CD/DVD Including CD-R, CD-RW, DVD+, DVD- DVD-R, DVD-RW, Mini DVD.
Typical forms of damage include: Scratches or contamination on the surface of the disk:
-Formatting or Overwriting
-Incorrect format used
-Small Cracks
-Files not found
-Sessions not finished properly-Computer hangs while disc is in the drive
Above is a typical scratch across the surface of a DVD.
There are instances however, when recovery would be very unlikely. A crack running right across the media greatly reduces the chance of recovery. If your CD/DVD has begun to show any cracks no matter how small, we strongly advise you cease all use of the media, so as not to risk making the damage worse.
We are still happy to perform a free analysis regardless of damage to the media.
Below is an example of a DVD which has suffered severe damage. It is highly unlikely we would be able to recover from this media.
